Ruger is an 11 year old, grade Rocky Mountain gelding standing 15 hands tall. He leads, loads in our stock trailer, stands for the farrier and to be tacked up. He clips and bathes easily. He is easy to handle on the ground. Ruger has been trail ridden and shown. Ruger is smooth gaited. He goes anywhere you ask of him and is sure footed. He doesn’t mind the water, traffic or dogs. When you first get on Ruger, he is ready to go but will settle down after a few minutes of riding. With this being said I would recommend a more advanced rider. The worst thing I can say about Ruger is that when you tack him up and go to mount he may not always stand still. Once you mount, he may crow hop a couple of times, but it is just out of readiness and eagerness to go. There’s no bucking, biting, kicking or rear. We have found that if you tack him up and leave him standing for a few minutes, there isn’t any crow hopping. This is probably how he has been rode the majority of his life but can probably be fixed with a little time and patience. Ruger will come with current negative coggins and a health certificate.
