Nelly is a 12 year old, grade TWH gelding that stands 14’3 on the stick. He leads, loads and stands for the farrier. He is UTD with our farrier and has four fresh keg shoes. He clips and bathes. He stands to tack up and to mount and dismount. He isn’t for your Grandma or your very beginner kid. He is a true riding horse that is quick on is feet and is not a dead head. He loves to go but he is collected while doing it. Someone who loves a horse with a little speed, and a good gear will love trail riding him! We’ve had him quite a few places and every time we’ve ridden him we’ve had a blast. He will take and move you on down the trail with a nice four beat gait or he will take it a little bit slower if you ask him. He has a canter that he can go into from a stop. He neck reins and backs well for a gaited horse. He doesn’t mind traffic or the water. We’ve currently got him stalled and he is easy to approach and keeps a stall clean. If you’re looking for a good, riding horse that will take you to town, Nelly is it. The only bad thing I can say about him is that the people who owned him prior to us must have liked to ride him more than feed him and he could use about 50 more pounds to be where we would like him, and his price will reflect that.
