Big Red

Big Red is an unregistered QH/Draft Cross gelding that is 13 years old and stands 15 hands tall. This big, thick gelding is as broke as they come. He has been ridden by novice juveniles, and adults. We haven’t found anything that bothers him. The novice rider in the beginning of the video took him through our local Christmas Parade. The loud music, kids, flashing lights, emergency vehicles, floats, side by sides, etc. did not phase him one bit. He carried, a very timid rider with ease. He has ridden in the middle, led the group and has even followed behind. We have ridden him with gaited horses as well as a team of mules too. He has a very nice walk, trot and smooth lope. He will one hand neck rein, and listen to voice commands well. We have even lightly started him on driving. He doesn’t mind meeting cars on the road, flags flying, or dogs. If I was going to have to knit pick a flaw, I would say that he doesn’t stand 100% still when mounting. He will take a step, but all you have to say is woah, and he will stay still. I have that videoed. He is super gentle and docile. He is easy to groom, bathe, clip, and loads easily in our stock trailer. He is built like a barn and is very thick made. He currently has shoes on.
